After working as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company from 1996 to 1998, he co-founded Aucland, one of Europe’s largest auction websites. In 2000, he founded Zingy, a mobile media startup that he sold for $80 million to For-Side, a Japanese media conglomerate.In 2006, Grinda co-founded OLX with Alec Oxenford, aiming to create the world’s largest free classified advertising website. Under his leadership as CEO until 2013, OLX expanded to over 90 countries and was eventually acquired by Naspers. Grinda’s investment portfolio includes early stakes in companies like Alibaba Group, Airbnb, and Palantir Technologies. He has made over 1,100 startup investments with more than 300 exits.Grinda is also known for his role as a co-founder and managing partner at FJ Labs, a venture fund focused on marketplace businesses. Beyond his business ventures, Grinda is an active blogger for Business Insider and frequently speaks at conferences on technology trends and investing. He is involved in philanthropy through initiatives like funding education for children in the Dominican Republic.
